Bihler Linear Machines

LM Linear Machines – The New Generation

The introduction of the LM 2000-KT and LM 2000-NC has elevated the Bihler range to new heights, firmly stamping the brand as the leader in the linear equipment industry. The innovative design, which includes enhanced machine and tool standardization and built-in rapid and repeatable setup, provides improved capacity to produce precision parts more quickly.

LM Linear Machine Models Available

LM linear machines are available in two variations:

  • LM 2000-KT: Our LM 2000-KT machine is cam-controlled and suitable for producing medium to large batch sizes. It is also capable of cycle rates of up to 500 per minute.
  • LM 2000-NC: This servo-controlled machine is designed for the efficient production of small to medium-batch sizes with a high number of variants.

Machine Details

Here are some features of both new LM linear machine models that are primed to replace current stamping and forming linear machine technology:

  • The standard interfaces and zero-point clamping system offer efficient and fast-forming tool setups due to the machine’s hydraulic clamping functions.
  • It has 2,000 millimeters processing length that can be used for multiple processes, including stamping, forming and coining.
  • The press installation space is compatible with Meusburger standard cutting frames.
  • These machines offer full compatibility with the Bihler Modular Series machines.
  • It is extendable with other process modules, including welding, threading and screw joining applications for additional value.
  • Integrated sensors self-monitor internal functions to enhance predictive maintenance capabilities in all machine and processing components.
  • Unrestricted access to machine components speeds up maintenance to reduce downtime.
  • Connecting the machining units to a central circulation lubrication system eliminates oil consumption.
  • Experience simple operation via the VariControl VC 1 control system.
  • It has a built-in OPC UA interface that transfers machine conditions to an MES or ERP system or the Bihler Cockpit.

LM 2000 Linear Equipment Process Module

The advanced technology featured on LM 2000 linear machines represents vast improvements in versatility. In addition to the expected forming processes, other processes can be integrated into the platform by adding required compact module units. All necessary software to add modules is included in the LM 2000 standard specs, and various process modules can be arranged in positions specific to the required process requirements.

Modules currently in predevelopment that can be integrated include contact welding, thread forming and screw insertion.

Benefits of LM Linear Machines

Bihler LM 2000 linear machines have catapulted stamp and forming machine design into the future. They enable businesses to optimize production without sacrificing quality, and more efficient, reliable production has a direct impact on business profitability. Adding linear process modules greatly increases the versatility of functions and can transform the LM 2000 into a complete manufacturing system.
